I try to write a few posts ahead of the day so I have time to enjoy writing and don't feel pressure to do something NOW. So I almost missed today, the final day of Create Every Day month. This was the first year I participated, and I'm so glad I did. Not every of my posts reflected something I'd done this month, but I did in fact create something EVERY day!.
To celebrate this achievement, I will double post today (if I can get it in under the wire) to show something that I did do today.
WARNING - more than my usual number of photos following -
I'd left this to stew. It's my second journal made from Mary Ann Moss's Stitched and Stenciled on-line class. I put it aside to figure out what, if anything, I wanted to add.
In the end, I didn't alter the pages much. I already had a lot of texture and it's a pretty thick book.
I like some of the pages a lot, and am pretty satisfied with most. I'll probably do something more with it at some point, but for now, it's done.
Today, feeling satisfied with where it was, I decided to finish the binding.
(If you've been playing along, that makes today tomorrow.)
First I added a little velvety strap on the outside. Then I bound up the edge with the longstitch binding I learned from a recent class but it ended up looking like another binding from Mary Ann's classes, so maybe it's the same.
I put in the red stretchy cords that I had gotten off a gift and saved (how many years ago?) for the right moment. THIS was the right moment! Who knew?
I think it looks mighty fine, if I do say so myself.
So this is it. Completed on the last day of Create Every Day.
Not a bad way to see the month out.
