I'm learning things as I go along. For example, fleece is WAY reflective when you photograph it. I had to get creative and use a very technical piece of equipment to shade this fabric (a folder).
Also if you just wear down your needle, you don't have to get a fancy ball point for knit fabrics, your good old one that has been through a few journal pages will do. I am NOT recommending it. I'm just noting it after the fact when my friends face looked stunned.
Just like you don't have to use all the fancy gears on your bike when you can just stand up out of your seat and haul yourself up that hill.
Mens patterns account for chests. Not thighs. That creates what one might call "a make it work moment". My children are so forgiving.
I can see how designers would get all excited when they see their design out on the street with someone actually wearing it. It's even better when you get to cuddle with a little fuzzy person. Or a medium fuzzy person too.
And finally, the body has no straight lines. Why should hems?
