After spending weeks taking care of things that needed taking care of, I am at the other end and have some 'free time'. Except that I'm not working so I should feel like all my time is free, but I don't, so there.
Believe it or not, I haven't posted all my self portraits. I hope to fill up one journal with just images of my own face.
I've actually learned a lot about what my own face looks like. In life, I try not to look too closely, but forcing myself to slow down and really attend has been - well, eye opening.
Then there is the whole issue of which lines to include or hint at or which shadows to suggest which saggy parts.
I'm not even going to talk about the hair issue. Because of medication, I've lost and regrown hair in two waves the last couple years. Which has meant that I have short semi-curly hair where I've always had pretty straight. I am surprised each and every time I look in the mirror. But like I said, I'm not going to talk about that. Just the interesting eye socket flap I didn't know I had, but do.
