I wasn't planning to take a break, but I guess I needed one. And I wasn't telling myself it was a break, but I'm ready to start blogging again. Last fall I was just feeling constrained by needing (obviously feeling like I needed to) do something so I could post something, which is silly. But I get in my head sometimes. Yup, I do.
But aside from going radio silent, I have resumed journaling and having fun with paint and travel journaling. So... although right now I think I have the flu and am not doing much of anything, which is why I am taking the time to do this, I thought I'd begin sharing again. Although I'm pretty sure I've lulled any readers I had into silence. But what they hey, it's just for fun anyway.
So to begin sharing, I'll just say that April was International Fake Journal Month, again. And so I am beginning to post my labors on my alternate blog 'Paint by Numbers'. I had A LOT of fun this year, although I didn't have any kind of clear cut character. What has become clear to me, during this fallow period the last few months, is that I've spent a good amount of time and money getting supplies, and probably less time using them. And there is nothing wrong with toys, but... let's be real. Amassing a collection that could take me through the next zombie apocalypse is kind of pointless (however fun). So I've tried to take my foot off the petal of acquistion (tried) and am giving thoughtful consideration to what I have and what it does for me. Or in my rambling thinking kind of way.
So basically for IFJM this year I used supplies that I'd acquired for no better reason than they are bright shiny objects. I used my vast quantity of washi tape, the tow bow markers that are so fun looking, some colored pencils I bought for a class and my trusty watercolors (plus a regular pencil and pen). They were picked at random, just because they caught my eye.
