I don't know....I'd say ANY time is a good time for a self-portrait--because there you are, all the time. Who else is always available to model. Plus--you can draw yourself in any mood. This one looks like you were tired--and your sketch captures that beautifully.

I had Bell's palsy (a facial paralysis) years ago that mostly resolved. Recently (as I age) I see some droop that I don't remember making me more asymmetrical. But I've just decided to make peace with that and have fun. I think seeing examples like yours with so much power in the expression helps with loosening up my hand.

Oh--and the other thing I wanted to saw was that I love how real faces are assymetrical.
